Paris: Orthodoxy 1, Islam 0

Russia has taken a bold move, as a society and as a government, to reclaiming its historic role as defender of the Orthodox Faith. True, the road to that august title is long and Russia has far to travel, but it has started.

What am I speaking of? Russia, at one point, as the Holy Russian Empire, prior to WW1, was the main defender and champion of Orthodox Christians in particular and all Christians in general, living under Islamic rule. Russia had fought several wars and Rus Cossacks had raided hundreds of times the preeminent Islamic super power of the time: the Ottoman Empire. The Rus Cossacks in particular had gotten so daring in their chyaiki boats that they attacked the ports of Constantinople itself, firing all of the Sultan's navy, with which he raided for and bought and transported thousands of Christian slaves.

It was Russia who championed and assisted the Greeks and the Cypriots in throwing off the Islamic yoke. Russia paid for this with an invasion by the Turks, backed by the British and French, called the Crimean War. It was Russia, who 60 years later, saved Serbia, Bulgaria, Romania, Makedonia from Islamic Turkish domination and it was Russia who opened her borders to the fleeing Armenians, whom the Turks were attempting to genocide.

Unfortunately, for the better part of the last century, with Russia first in civil war and then under Soviet rule to be followed by Yeltsin's cronyism, all bought and paid by the NYC/London crowd, Orthodox Christians in particularly and Christians in general have suffered horribly in the ME. The Turks went on to massacre Armenians and Assyrians and totally wiped out the Iotolan Greeks who had lived on their land for over 3,000 years. This was with US, UK and Soviet backing. The Turks invaded Cyprus wiping out 100,000 Cypriot Greeks, with US arms and backing. The PLO murdered 100,000 Orthodox and Catholic Christians in Lebanon and were then saved from destruction by the IDF and Lebonese Christian Army by the US.

The Christians of Palestine have been all but wiped out, after the Israelis were forced to give up that land to the PLA, the PLO that the US had saved and brought to power.

The Christians in Iraq are now almost gone, after 2,000 years, all under the watchful eye of the US/UK and NATO.

Egypt expelled half its Coptic Christians. Pakistan is murdering off its own. NATO actively helped cleanse Christians from Bosnia, Kosovo and western Macedonia as well as turn the blind eye to massive anti-Christian prosecution in southern Albania.

But finally, finally, Russia is taking her place. This occurred in Paris, where the Russian government paid top dollar for a piece of land, formerly owned by the Paris Meteo France and will now build a Russian culture center there which will include a Cathedral. The purchase of this land was a direct order from President Medvedev and is the first time Russia has done such a thing since 1917, when the last church was commissioned by a Russian government.

The land, located not far from the Eiffel Tower, was won in a contest with Saudi Arabia, which was planning on putting a nice, big shiny Islam center for the continuation of the Islamicization of Europe. Fortunately for all, Russia won. Christ will be in central Paris and with His grace, salvation.

President Medvedev had been quoted as saying: "The Church should be in the soul of each of us. Every person has his own path to follow. One has to look into one's own heart, but the state should create conditions that allow people's desire to go to church to be satisfied," Medvedev stressed.

Xristos Voskresse!

Stanislav, you're a thoughful person...so I know you've considered where all this could lead - which is why I'm asking the question.

If Christians in Saudia Arabia could practice their faith without persecution - even convert muslims....would you still be unhappy? A true test of ideas with *no one* having the power to kick over the table when they failed to get their way....

Not a trick question. Serious.

And how would *you* like to see the UN behave whenever ethnic or religious cleansing becomes apparent? What would you propose as a UN alternative?

This is a wonderful story. The road may be long as you say, Mr. Mishin but it is there for Russia to travel. There is no possibility of another "Crimean War" to block it. .As the Orthodox Byzantines often sought (with mixed results) Catholic assistance to fend off Islam, the Vatican now openly solicits Russia and Orthodoxy to regenerate a degenerate and Islam-infested Western Europe.I believe in a future in which the Archbishop of Moscow and the Archbishop of Rome help restore a moral and flourishing Europe. Actually there is no future if my belief is mistaken,so go and fight for it.

@Mat Rodina

Under Gorbachaev starting in the late 80's Russia's economic advisors were trained in London, Budapest and Vienna.

The same people like Kudrin are directing Russia's currrent economic policy.

I would care if there was no Christians in Saudi Arabia as long as they stop supporting Islamic terrorism in Russia with there historic alliance with MI6/CIA.

This is magnificent news, but in the interest of fairness, it is important to stress that even in tsarists times, Russian was not always on the side of Christians.

For example, in during the Hamidian Massacres, about 200 000 Armenians were put to death throughout Turkey. The West was so horrified by the events that Britain suspended it's traditional position of supporting Turkey as a counterweight to Russia. Russia was in effect, given a free ability to intervene in Turkey, and liberate Armenia. Yet it did not do so for fear that an independent Armenia would encourage independentist movements in the rest of the empire. The foreign minister of Russia was quoted saying : Yes we want Armenia, but without the Armenians.

Actually, the Empire openned its borders for hundreds of thousands of Armenians to take refugee there.

Britain moved away from the Turks not because of this: the limies had done the same and worse to the Boers, but because the Turks had moved close to Germany.

The Armenia genocide was orchestrated and led by Young Turks drafted in from London as part of British Rothschild control of the Caspian basin and oil routes via Turkey to Europe. Today’s BTC oil and gas pipeline travels through this route crossing area of Turkey which used to inhabit Armenians now Kurds.

You see this Turkish-British co-operation today in Chechnya and the North Caucasus.

Interesting info as revealed by Dugin.

"In some time America involves into the process the Western political and diplomatic support. Aslan Maskhadov is received in London with a guard of honor, platoons of artillery and the Royal Life Guards, greetings of the Muslim community in the British capital with torches, sounds of bagpipes and drum stroke. So dirty cheap is bought hatred to Russia. This entire process certainly requires funding.

...a British financier James Goldsmith was earning money speculating in shares of oil companies. In particular, those companies which invested into the development of the Caspian oil. Margaret Thatcher, by the way, was at that time an advisor to the oil company «British Petroleum». And these interests of the British financier become connected to the situation in Chechnya. He is interested in the formation of market of shares of the companies participating in the Caspian developments. He learns which companies are developing the Caspian shelf in Baku, which of them get an eye on the developments in Chechnya, what companies are oriented on a certain route of transportation - through Chechnya to Novorossiysk, or bypassing Russia, on which route stake the companies taking into consideration the current situation in Chechnya, whether the shares have risen or fallen. He finances a bandit group, destabilizes the situation in Chechnya, consequently - the shares of those who stake on the route of Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan rise, meanwhile, for those who are transporting through Novorossiysk – everything stalls, the quotes drop, so they can be bought up. Then a lull, an armistice, a Khassavyurt peace treaty, the shares are slowly rising, though the shares of those investing in the Baku-Tbilisi-Ceyhan route are falling. That is, depending on the situation, in Chechnya is conducted jobbing, which brings enormous revenues. At that, there is no direct American money.

It was at this moment that in the surroundings of the Chechen leadership appeared an English businessman of Polish descent Mansour Yahimchik, who had in due time been one of the leaders of the Polish «Solidarity» in Krakow. He suddenly showed unexpected interest in the Sufi version of Islam in Chechnya, was naturalized as a citizen of «Ichkeria», became the Chechen presidential adviser on foreign economic issues. At his suggestion the Chechen leaders got in contact with the British financial elite, he was arranging meetings of the Chechen leaders with the English Lords, with Margaret Thatcher, with heads of major companies.
With the direct participation of this Pole-Englishman in April 1997 was established a Caucasian investment fund, in Washington was registered the Caucasus-American Chamber of Commerce and Industry, and Lord McAlpine - Representative of the Financial Group at Goldsmiths’ - promised to invest 3 billion dollars in the Chechen oil industry, but given that he gets the right of general tenancy of the entire Chechen oil industry. In fact, already at that time the matter concerned purchase of the Chechen oil industry, which later was tried to be performed by Khodorkovsky.”
