I Am Shocked I Tell You, Shocked
As so Americans woke up to their media telling them to be shocked, in the most hypocritical and self-righteous manner yet this month. Yes, the US' hypocrisy never seems to disappoint or go away.
The issue today? Well, seems that the Chinese PLA (People's Liberation Army) put out a first person shooter game (that's where you run around looking through the eyes of a character and shoot things/people) called Glorious Mission and the enemy getting shot are...gasp...US troops.
Yes, one may say that such a thing is in bad taste, that is if one was anyone but the US. But considering the US Army put out its own shooter, some four years or so ago
America's Army where American teens, boozed up on caffeine drinks and nacho chips, can shoot generic Slavs (read Russians and Serbs), generic Asians (read Chinese) or some other generic group, as well as get the graphic novels (read comic books, but for a half educated generation that sounds to low, we'll elevate it graphic novel to make it sound like actual literature), that is rather hypocritical.
But as if that stops there. Nay, yearly, US media published games and movies showing US "heroes" gunning down dozens of those evil Russians, Serbs, other generic Slavs, Germans, Arabs, Japanese, Chinese and whom ever else they can fit in the roll of pure evil. Never mind the mindless wars the US is in, that the American Left cheers and the American Right, the "conservatives" also cheer, but just from their couches while watching it on Fox. Only the small percentage of what is called the Palo Conservatives, see all of this for what it is and they are treated like some archaic bunch of special ed kids.
Take for example, the highly popular US games Call of Duty 4, or Command & Conquer or, well here's just a short list of games, and never mind the movies, that since 2000 were published by the US companies and the enemies involved:

The American media, ever the mouth piece of absolute blind hypocrisy is having a field day. Rather then report on the collapsing US economy or the waves of SWAT team killings and gross disrespect for their own constitution by the government, they are complaining about how the victims of US media have made the US their virtual victim.
CNN: Although the game has received limited coverage in China, it has generated waves in the United States, reports BehindTheWall, not for its graphics or the fact that it brings the Chinese army up to speed, but for the fact that American soldiers are the main adversary.
“[Many people's] concern is that the game, which was ostensibly developed as a training tool for the PLA, makes American soldiers and equipment the enemy combatant and could lead young, impressionable trainees to believe that the United States is the enemy,” writes Ed Flanagan.

Again, when dealing with the West, particularly the Anglo West, one need not turn over many stones to find the odor of hypocrisy waffing up.
